Greetings!  My name is Dr. Shelly Harrell and I am a psychologist with over 25 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and groups to heal, transform, and express their highest and best potential.  I am committed to working collaboratively with my clients toward their goals.  I meet you where you are and we go from there.  I work from a strengths-based perspective with a focus on optimizing both awareness and action.  I integrate contemplative, relational, and empowerment processes into my work. My approach to psychotherapy is informed by an integrative approach including acceptance-based behavioral therapies (i.e., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT)), Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT); humanistic and existential approaches, and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). All of my work is grounded in a multicultural meta-theoretical framework. In addition to psychotherapy, I offer consultation and psychoeducation to groups on resilience-oriented stress management, contemplative practices (e.g., meditation, writing/journaling), relationships, group dynamics, cultural diversity, intergroup relations, dialogue processes, and other topics.
